College Hills Head Start HI, My name is Bonnie Elbel.  This is my 8th year teaching Head Start in College Station.  I have been teaching young children for 21 years. I graduated from Texas A&M University.  I am married to David and have 2 children, Brian and Kathrin.  Brian is a PH.D student at Yale University and Kathrin is a Graduate student at UT Dallas.  I truly enjoy working with young children.  My goal is to fill each day with activities that will produce life long memories. We are blessed to have 2 teachers in our classroom, Mrs. Elbel and Mrs. Rodriguez. Mrs. Rodriguez has been teaching Head Start in College Station for 20 years.  She is married to George and has 4 grown children.  She has 7 grandchildren.  Ms. Weber is our Family Services Facilitator and provides support to the classroom and families. Head Start is a federally funded preschool program that serves children ages 3, 4, and 5. The purpose and intent of Head Start is to increase the social competence of young children and to provide a strong foundation of family support and education.   By evaluating and meeting needs of the child and family, the program is able to prepare individuals for a successful school experience.
