 Hello! My name is Christie Scambray.I am a proud member of the AWESOME first grade team at Southwood Valley! This will be my 10th year teaching first grade at SWV. I was fortunate enough to begin here as an A&M student. I spent 2 semesters as a PDS (Professional Development School) student and a student teacher with the 2nd grade team before being offered a position on the 1st grade team. I have LOVED every experience I have had here at SWV! I am confident you will find a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the very first moment you enter the doors; just as I did.
I was born and raised in Bryan, Texas with one brother named Douglas. I graduated from Bryan High School in 1995. I married my high school sweetheart in November of 1996. I then graduated from Texas A&M in December of 1999 with my B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies. I began teaching first grade in August of 2000 and have been enjoying each year ever since!
I am married to Jamie and we have a 5 year-old son named Christian. He is in Kindergarten at SWV. We also have one furry member of our family...he is a Miniature Schnauzer named Pepper. I enjoy reading, spending time with my husband, son, & extended family, and getting to know my brand-new nephew and nieces a little better. All 3 were born between February and July 2008...they are Jaxon, Svea, & Devyn.
