Music is a key ingredient in developing a well-balanced child. Our students attend 30 minutes of music every third day. They are given the opportunity to truly possess music by acquiring musical literacy skills.
The children will be exposed to many different kinds of music. Folk songs, games, and dances from American and other cultures will be interwoven throughout the year. The music of the masters and the best of modern composers will be introduced. The use of musical tools, like solfege, rhythm syllables, and echo singing, helps each child develop the ability to read, write, and create with the vocabulary of music. Students are given the opportunity to play classroom instruments and to learn about orchestral instruments.
