Hello and welcome to Rock Prairie's third grade. I teach Language Arts and team with Marion Jones who teaches the Math, Science, and Social Studies.         I have taught for 31 years, 23 of which have been in College Station I.S.D. My husband is a professional photographer and we have two grown children with three beautiful grandchildren that are the light of my life.         Teaching Language Arts is a complete joy for me! Throughout the year students read fiction and nonfiction novels where vocabulary, comprehension, main idea and summarizing are stressed. They experience becoming authors of narrative, how to, persuasive, and compare/contrast compositions. Grammar and spelling round out our curriculum with cursive writing being an exciting new challenge.         My goal each year is to make third grade a fun filled, learning experience where each student reaches their potential.
