COLLEGE STATION HEAD START
Hi, my name is Melinda Glover. This is my 12th year teaching in College Station and my 9th year teaching Head Start. I have been teaching young children for 15 years. I graduated from Texas A&M University. I am married and have 2 children. My son is a Junior at Texas A&M and my daughter is a Sophomore at A&M Consolidated High School. I teach Head Start because I enjoy working with young children. A child's first year is so important and it is my goal to do all I can to make it successful for each child.
We are blessed to have two teachers in the classroom, Mrs. Glover and Ms. Manley; and a Family Services Facilitator, Mrs. Weber. She also provides support to the classroom and families.
Head Start is a federally funded preschool program that serves children ages 3,4 and 5. The purpose and intent of Head Start is to increase the social competence of young children and to provide a strong foundation of family support and education. By evaluating and meeting needs of the child and family, the program is able to prepare individuals for a successful school experience.
